Meet our Staff 

Michael Dermansky - Senior Physiotherapist
 

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons); Masters of Business Administration; Graduate Certificate Physiotherapy (Continence & Pelvic Floor Rehab). Michael has had formal training on McKenzie Mechanical Lumbar & Cervical training, Clinical Pilates Level 1&2; Ergonomics for Physiotherapists & Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Workshop.
Before MD Health:
Michael used to work for Glenhuntly Physiotherapy Clinic, John Fawkner Hospital, Melbourne Rugby Club, Collegians Football Club, Melbourne High Football Club & Vic Under 21 & School Boys Rugby Team.
For fun:
Michael enjoys playing Golf, scuba diving, playing video games, and if anyone is ever interested to fund Michael, he'd love to go back to University and study some more! Michael also expects from all his staff a similar thing to what he expects from himself: Integrity, Honesty, and Trust.


Maria Guarella- Practice Manager

Before MD Health:

Maria worked for CSIRO at the division of Molecular Science as a research scientist then became the communications manager. She also spent some time at CSIRO Enquiries. She got married and had children. She then worked for several years in POS at Coles.
For fun:
Maria enjoys shopping, dancing, going out with the girls, movies and is absolutely addicted to MD Health’s Pilates programme. She’s been with us for as long as MD Health has existed! She also loves spending time with her family.



Christina Daulo - Marketing Manager

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Business Studies, Marketing Major - Monash University. 
Before MD Health:

Christina did have a life before MD Health. Before becoming MD Health's first ever Receptionist and Marketing Manager, she was an Account Manager for an IT Consulting firm, then joined Mercer as Events Coordinator and then became a public servant for over 5 years with Victoria Police as Marketing & Communications Officer.
For fun:
Chris enjoys shopping, has a massive collection of shoes & bags, walking her dogs, movies, dining out, dancing street latin, and parking herself on the couch most weekends without moving for over 6-8 hours straight! Betrayal is her biggest pet hate.





Lynne Walker - Front Desk Office Manager (Kew)

Qualifications:
Certificate III Business (Financial Services); Certificate IV Business (Frontline Management)
Before MD Health:
Lynne worked for a large insurance company for 12 years.  Her career began as a stenographer in the Life Policy Division progressing through the company’s Head Office in secretarial positions in the Property Division, the Investments Division and then as secretary to the Managing Director. 

Lynne married and had two children – both boys.  Lynne left the workforce to care for her children and became involved with her children’s kindergarten and school activities, and assisted in the Reading Recovery Program and at many excursions - the most memorable being a Grade 5/6 trip to Canberra!

 

Lynne rejoined the workforce and spent 17 years in an aged care environment.  She began as a housekeeper, and then changed direction to become the Accounts Clerk and then the Administration Officer.  During this period, Lynne successfully completed a traineeship and studied for another qualification.
For Fun:
Lynne enjoys reading, walking, knitting, visiting art galleries, and caring for the family pets (a cat and two dogs).

 

She is passionate about everything French - which her many books about France, (particularly Paris) and the many ornaments and photos of the Eiffel Tower demonstrate.  In fact, her family describe her as the ultimate Francophile!


Adriane Hilder – Assistant Practice Manager & Senior Exercise Physiologist

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Exercise Science, Post graduate Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation. Level II first aid
.

Before MD Health:
Adriane has recently graduated from Victoria University and is continuing on to complete her Masters in Exercise Rehabilitation
. During the past year she has worked part time as a personal trainer
.

For Fun:
Adriane enjoys surfing, water skiing and anything in the water. Any other day she is happy being outside if not shopping.



Florence Kelly – Senior Exercise Physiologist

Qualifications: Bachelor of Applied science (Exercise and Sports Science); Graduate Diploma in Applied Science (Exercise Rehabilitation); Graduating from Masters in Applied Science (Exercise Rehabilitation) in 2009.

Before MD Health: During the course of her postgraduate studies, Florence spent 18 months working as a physiotherapist assistant at the Kingston Rehabilitation Centre working with sub acute clients aged 15 to 103 years old.

For fun: Florence’s greatest passions are family, friends, food, fashion and exercise. One of her favorite things to do is walking up the 1000 steps in the Dandenong ranges. Surprisingly, being French Canadian has not made her very resistant to the cold and travelling around the world to exotic destinations is a major component on her “to do” list.






Merrin Keaney - Senior Physiotherapist

Qualifications: Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sports Science); Level 1 & 2 DMA Pilates, Level 1 & 2 Sports Trainer and First Aid.
Before MD Health: Merrin made a career of being a professional student before graduating from Monash University in 2008. Throughout her studies, Merrin worked in a variety of settings including acute & sub-acute hospitals, private practice and a special school. She has also worked as a Sports Trainer for Oakleigh Districts Football club for 7 years and assisted under 7's at Emmanuel Calisthenics Club. Merrin was also lucky enough to work at teh 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games as a Sports Trainer for the Gymnastics.
For Fun: Merrin has a passion for calisthenics and has been a member of the same calisthenics team for 22 years! She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, beach, travel, dance, Pilates and footy (particularly beating the boys at footy tipping competitions).

 

Sam Waley - Exercise Physiologist

Qualifications: Bachelor of Exercise Science. Post-Graduate Diploma of Exercise Rehabilitation. Graduating from Masters of Exercise Rehabilitation 2009. Level II First Aid.  Level II CPR.  Certificate 4 in Personal Training.

Before MD Health: I was on National Rowing Teams from 2000-2004 after which persistent injuries stopped me from competing.  This allowed me the time to finish off my very neglected undergraduate degree and begin post graduate studies.  I also work part time as a personal trainer in Brighton and undertook a Strength and Conditioning traineeship at the Victorian Institute of Sport.

For Fun: Enjoys sports, live music, weekends, and is fully intending on visiting South America some time next year.



Paige Ellis - Physiotherapist

Qualifications
: Bachelor of physiotherapy,  LaTrobe university. Level  1 Sports Trainer, Surf Life Saving Bronze medalallion.

Before MD Health: I took a year off uni and worked as a full time allied health assistant at Broadmeadows Health Service, then travelled for 4 months through S.E. Asia. I have worked as a Sports trainer for the LaTrobe football club for two years during my university course.

For fun: Enjoy travelling to parts of the world I haven’t seen, photography and scuba diving. Enjoy playing sport, particularly basketball, bike riding, running and tennis. I love being entertained with  a day at the beach, a night out at a decent restaurant, and listening to music in some local bars all with the company of good friends









Nicholas Kee - Physiotherapist

Qualifications
: Bachelor of Physiotherapy – Monash University .

Before MD Health: In addition to running his own Taekwon-Do school, Nicholas held community seminars, teaching self defence to women and children – work he found particularly rewarding.  He has also worked closely as a trainer and physiotherapist with Hockey Victoria and has had experience with the Tasmanian Institute of Sport in Launceston.

For Fun: Nicholas continues to pursue his interest in the martial arts, actively practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, wrestling, Muay Thai and MMA.  He is also a big sports fan and loves snowboarding, rock climbing and AFL.  When he has time off, Nicholas enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.




Ben Drew - Physiotherapist

Qualifications:
 Bachelor of Physiotherapy
Before MD Health: Worked as an orderly at Mitcham Private Hospital , a truck jockey at Capt'n Snooze, and have studied one year of a Bachelor of Intercultural studies at Tabor Bible College .  
For fun: hanging out with my amazing girlfriend, finding ways of loving people and the city, playing soccer, running, dancing, playing guitar, bass and drums.
